Definitive Guide to Shotguns

By Icezylol

Basics

What is a shotgun?

Shotgun is a close range weapon that can cause severe damage depending on the type of bullet used. Shotguns can attack in 3 ways: pump-action, semi-auto and full-auto and use 12 gauge or 12×70 mm bullets

Bullet type

12×70 mm ammunition can be divided into 2 main types: slugs and buckshots. The difference is that when fired, the buckshots will spread to pellets. While in slug ammo. Only one shot will be fired. Which you probably wonder “What ammunition should I use then?”. The answer is that it depends on your playing style. If you like hipfires in close range or don’t like aim down sight(ADS), the right bullet for you is buckshot.

But if you like ADS or peek fire behind cover often, slug bullets are your choice.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Cheap price even with gun customization
  • Deals severe damage at close range and low ammunition usage
  • Easy to obtain, can be trade with enemy guns at any time

Cons

  • The effective range is very low
  • Slow rate of fire
  • Ammo could not penetrate high-tier armor

Details of Each Shotgun

SPR310

This shotgun is a semi-auto twin barrel shotgun that can fire two bullets at the same time. This gun can be found on the market or Joel Garrison selling for 1,045 koen, which is the cheapest among other shotguns. But its disadvantage is that it cannot be customized or equipped with other accessories and once fired, the gun must be reloaded every time. Which is a waste of time and a high risk of being counterpush.

The recommended bullet is a buckshot because the gun is difficult to aim at and the slug bullet has a high chance of miss If not ADS. I recommended you to aim the gun at the enemy’s head or leg and press fire immediately. If enemy is not dead yet. Quickly relocate and reload before continue shooting.

  • Recommendations: 2/10 Just don’t buy

MP-133

Shotguns with a pump action system that is often seen in bots, armed groups, or sold at Uncle Joel for 1305 koen have a relatively low rate of fire at 60 RPM. The handguard can be customized to increase ergonomics and can install grip and laser.

The stock can be change to install a scope or the pistol grip. You can also the magazine size to 8 rounds and can also add a muzzle to increase the gun’s stability or suppressor. Due to the gun’s slow RPM, it is suitable for hipfire shooting. Shoot and jump or run to dodge before continuing to shoot without needing to aim.

  • Recommendations: 5/10, suitable for beginners who want to try shotgun weapons

M870

This is another pump action shotgun that can be found in valley map bots or bought from Uncle Joel at 2173 koen. It is a gun that looks similar to the MP-133 but has a slightly higher rate of fire at 70 RPM. The gun can be customized in the same way as the MP-133, but the slight difference is that you can use magazines that have maximum capacity of 10 rounds.

  • Recommendations: 6/10 slightly better than MP-133 or interchangeable

S12K

Also known as the Saiga-12, it is a semi-auto shotgun found in farm, port, and armory map bots. It can be trade from Uncle Joel and the market price is around 10,000 koen. This gun has a relatively decent of fire at 200 RPM and can be customized in many ways similar to an assault rifle.

You can change the handguard, stock, magazines, pistol grip, rails, and muzzle. which can be used with both types of bullets It depends on the style of play. In addition, it may be difficult to find a storage for magazine with a large compartment size. Therefore, there should be a suitable rig for convenient magazine replacement.

  • Recommendations: 7.5/10 Easy to use, good to use, easy to obtain, good value for it’s price

DP-12

This gun is my personal favorite shotgun. Why? First, this gun can be trade from Uncle Joel or bought in the market for a price at 15,000-20,000 koen, which seems expensive But in fact, this gun, even without additional modifications can works really well. Second, this gun can fire 2 rounds burst like the SPR310, but it can fire up to 7 bursts!

That’s enough to take out all the enemies squad! (The fire button can be pressed and held to fire a continuous burst) and Third. It’s a shotgun with the highest rate of fire among shotguns at 300 RPM, equal to SPR310, and a maximum range of 34 meters with a long barrel, where the handguard, muzzle and stock can be customized to your liking, but for me just add a scope and muzzle is enough

  • Recommendations: 10/10 guns that you can just buy and play immediately. Highly flexible and easy to play with both types of bullets.

USAS-12

This is the only shotgun with a full-auto firing system at 275 RPM. It can be obtained from bots in the Northridge Hotel (super rare), TV station bots including the Rolf boss, and can be traded from Uncle Joel or bought in the market at a minimum price of 25,000 koen.

The USAS-12 can also shoot semi-auto, but not recommended. The gun can be modified with additional suppressor, increase magazine size, adjusted handguard to fit a laser or flashlight, and installed an additional scope or stock. This gun is more suitable for slug bullets because it can shoot full auto at close range and has a high chance of hitting the target even if it is not aimed.

  • Recommendations: 8/10 overall is considered better than S12K, but the price is high, not suitable for budget players.

Guidelines for playing From all I mentioned earlier. The gameplay depends on type of bullet. Which can be divided into 2 types: if you use buckshots. It is recommended to shoot with a hipfire or without aiming. Because even if you aim Some pellets will spread out from the target anyway. By shooting a hipfire, you can do jumpshot or dropshot at the same time, making it more difficult for enemies to attack you before kill them. If you use a slug shell, you should aim through the scope or ADS, increasing the chance of the bullet being in the center of the sight as much as possible. Peeking from cover is also a good option.
