Astrometica – Gameplay FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Is the game being Steam Deck compatible in the future, a goal for you guys?

Oh, absolutely! Steam Deck compatibility is definitely a goal for us. The game already performs well on Steam Deck, but we still need to fine-tune a few things for full compatibility. Currently, we have about 80% gamepad support for both Steam Deck and Xbox controllers, and we’re working to improve that further!

Is mod support planned? At release? Or some point later?

Yes, mod support is definitely planned! It won’t be available at release, but it’s something we’re aiming to implement later down the line. We want to ensure the game has a solid foundation first before opening it up for mods.

Is there plans to make a multiplayer?

For now, we don’t have immediate plans to add multiplayer. It’s something we’ve considered, but our main focus during Early Access is to make significant progress on the core game, add new content, and polish the experience. Once that’s done, we might revisit the idea in the future!

Do you plan to add voice overs to logs?

Yes, we plan to add voiceovers for logs and NPCs in the future. Unfortunately, we couldn’t include them at launch due to funding limitations, but we’re hopeful to bring this feature in future updates!

Will there be any bundle on release day with other games?

Yes, we’re excited to announce that there will be 5 bundles available on release day, featuring great games like:

  • Astro Colony
  • Eden Crafter
  • Occupy Mars
  • Thief Simulator
  • Crime Scene Cleaner

Stay tuned for more details on these bundles at launch!

What will be the price of this game?

How does the automation will look like? Inspired by Satisfactory or what can we expect from it?

Currently, automation in Astrometica is pretty simple—we have features like mining asteroids and deposits, but nothing too complex beyond that. However, real automation is something planned for future updates. While it won’t be on the level of Satisfactory, it will be more straightforward and focused on drone-based systems to keep things accessible and fun.

Are there plans to add more plants and more farming /more beverages/eatables been crafted from different ingredients? Perhaps even plants for decoration?

Right now, farming is in the game, but it’s not as developed as we’d like it to be. We’re planning a major update specifically focused on farming. In this update, you’ll be able to do a lot more—like building and crafting your own floating islands, terraforming them, and growing a variety of plants for food, beverages, and even decorative purposes. And trust me, there’s much more coming that we’re keeping as a surprise for now!

What will the Yuna vehicle do in terms of functionality for the game?

Oh, the Yunadel won’t be a functional, pilotable ship—it’s actually a major endgame location. It’s a massive spaceship that you’ll discover and can spend hours exploring. It holds a lot of mysteries and secrets tied to the game’s story, and we don’t want to spoil too much about it.

That said, we do plan to add mobile spaceship that you can pilot, but they’ll be much, much smaller compared to the Yunadel. These will have practical uses for exploration and mobility, but the Yunadel itself is more of a monumental exploration site rather than a vehicle.

Will there be other spaceships or vehicle in the game?

Yes, we plan to add more spaceship classes and vehicles to the game! We want to keep some surprises, so we won’t spoil too much just yet. Stay tuned for future updates!

Will the game go for “advanced combat” or will combat will stay 2nd in line and be more casual? Will there be options to “fine tune” combat like setting their hitpoints or their damage down? Or decrease their numbers?

Combat in Astrometica will always remain optional. While we do plan to include some exciting combat mechanics, we understand that not every player enjoys or focuses on combat-heavy gameplay. That’s why we’ve designed the game to offer alternative paths to progress, allowing you to avoid fights if that’s your preference.

Additionally, in the future, we aim to include options in the game settings to fine-tune the combat experience. This may include adjustments like reducing enemy damage, hitpoints, or even their numbers, giving you full control over how challenging or casual you’d like the combat to be.

At its core, Astrometica is about exploration, survival, and creativity, and we want to ensure the game is accessible and enjoyable for everyone, no matter their playstyle!

Just a fun question. Where do you like to build your first base?

That’s a fun question! I’d probably build my first base near a spot with a good variety of resources, like iron and copper asteroids. That way, I can gather everything I need early on and eventually set up automation to make life easier!

Will there be weapons in the game and some enemies, maybe different ones?

Yes, there will be weapons in the game—both for spaceships and for your character! I can even share some concept art for the guns we’re planning to include. And, of course, if there are guns, that means more creatures and robotic enemies are on the way too. Stay tuned for some exciting additions!

Are there any monsters?

Yes, there will be more creatures in the future, including big monsters. As the story progresses, you’ll encounter alien structures and much more that we don’t want to spoil just yet!

How big is the game world intended to be on release?

At release, the game will feature 3 asteroid belts, although only 1 of them is fully completed at the moment. We plan to continually add more asteroid belts and enhance the current ones with new locations, mechanics, and stories.

It’s also worth mentioning that our game world is entirely handcrafted—there’s no procedural generation. Every location is carefully designed to ensure a unique and immersive experience.
