Beginners Guide
By Haruka.
Welcome to Fantasy: Here we have good story, good graphics, and super hard gameplay.
Reroll Tips
Very strict timing for early, mid, and late game cats. Godlike late game cats can be so useless early. Which means if you don’t have a good team as a F2P, you’re going to be stuck and sad. So next is who to reroll for and the best starter team to have.
These 4 characters are the best at what they do, and their synergy is just amazing.
- In short: reroll for Anya or Ina.
SSR Green Echo:
- Best AOE in the game – she carries all early game.
- She is the best character for tower (for a lot of summon crystals), with PEN gear (get from arena) later.
- You can buy Echo for only $1.
- Not only does it help you start strong early to reach mid-game,
- but when you reach mid-game, you can farm character shards.
- Up to 250 = 2.5 SSR every 2 weeks.
SSR Green Anya:
- The best shielder, no questions asked, has AOE team shield at 3 stars.
- You can get her free in 7 days sign-in (+300 summons in a month login) and 1 more copy from newbie event.
- Meaning 2 more copies and she’s 3 stars.
SR Red Yunpei:
- The best buffer in the game now, mainly because she works so well with Echo and Anya.
- She is an SR, so you will get her sooner or later.
SSR Green Ina:
- The best CC character in the game, with AOE fear for 1 turn with normal lv2 card.
- She can fear everyone to make space for Echo to clear mobs, for Yunpei to heal back.
- Then she can taunt boss forever with 2 turn single taunt.
- And with Anya’s shield for her, it’s close to impossible to kill her.
A Good Side Character to Have is R Blue Asuna:
- She is the best VUR stack in the game.
- Used for long fight boss stages.
With this team above, if you have +1 power, you win (game mechanic: whoever has more power gets to go first). So we reroll for Anya or Ina.
You should be able to clear all story, and 100+ tower. It will give you a lot of summons and resources to build more teams later. Yes, we need multiple teams in this game, at least 3.
With 300 summons in 1 month of login and tower crystals, you should have 70-80% SSR. At this point, you can enjoy whatever play style you want.
Character DMG Type and Building
Check this to know when your favorite character is going to be strong.
Short Version:
- Late: Shatter > Violent > Demolish > Destruction: Early
- Late: Penetration > Durability > True > Indirect: Early
- The closer to early, the easier to build.
- The closer to late, the harder.
Clearer Information Below:
Character damage types are very varied in this game. We have like 8+ types. But they can be divided into two:
(1) Good Against LOW DEF Bosses: 1-2K Def + No Durability Buff
- Destruction: x2.5 to targets with debuff
- Demolish: x2 to targets with buff
- Violent: x2 crit rate
- Shatter: x2 crit damage
- Early: less than 50% crit rate / crit damage
- Destruction > Demolish > Violent > Shatter
- Mid game: 50-100% crit rate / crit damage
- Destruction > Violent > Demolish > Shatter
- Late game: 100% crit rate / 250+% crit damage
- Shatter > Violent > Destruction > Demolish
Note: Best late game damage against low def is Shatter. And the best of Shatter is SSR Green Asura.
(2) Good to HIGH DEF Boss: 4-5K Def + Durability
These types of damage will deal normal damage when the 4 above deal super low damage, even 1 damage, for real:
- But they will do 3 times less damage to low def boss.
- Piercing: x2 Penetration rate, reduce def and dur (can crit)
- True: Ignores Def (can crit)
- Penetrating: Ignores Durability (can crit)
- Indirect: Burn, curse, Tremor, Bleed etc: Ignores def. (can’t crit)
In the late game:
- Piercing > Penetrating > True > Indirect.
Why?
With targets that have debuff immunity:
- Indirect doesn’t do damage. (Just like Destruction damage doesn’t get bonus if target can’t be debuffed, so Shatter is better late game)
With targets having very high Dur, true damage doesn’t do damage – okay it still does 1 damage:
- But Indirect is easier to build, has high % atk in skill (can’t crit)
- True damage has lower % atk in skill, (can crit) needs high crit/crit damage.
- Piercing damage has good % atk in skill (can crit), needs pen gear from Arena and it’s the hardest to get.
Example:
- AoE Indirect – Curse: 120% atk
- AoE True damage: 61% atk.
With 100% crit + 200% crit damage, True damage will start to get better than Indirect. Any true damage doesn’t care if target is immune to debuff.
Because most bosses have low defense early on
- We’re going to build critical hit / critical damage on DPS.
- Then slowly make a penetration set from arena.
- Arena only: Luck, Penetration, Durability gear.
- All the other gear can be farmed on normal stages.
- Shield / heal gear on support, with HP sub-stats.
- (Luck will give % chance to get level 2 skill cards, so luck gear will be good on some supports too, but it’s still bugged and doesn’t work yet.
- Update: Luck works now!)
And Tenacity gear, then Durability for tanks.
2-turn AOE tank: Such as Minami and Snow are the best for late game. They just take no damage.
It’s really fair; if bosses can take 1 damage, we can build to take 1 damage too. But if you use them early without late-game gear, then they’re going to feel useless and die a lot.
- This goes for DPS as well; check the character damage types before using them.
- If all DPS that you’re using are only good against high defense.
- Or DPS that are good for late game but weak early.
- (Shatter – Violent).
- It will be normal if you get stuck.
Suggested Stats:
- Tank: 140%+ Durability, + Crit Rate Res.
- (Don’t build Crit Damage Res, it’s a bait)
- Penetration: 80-90% pen + as much Crit, Crit Damage / ATK as possible.
(High HP sub-stats are always welcome to stay, but we will want all true power on DPS later. More info in – Power: link)
How to Get More Power
In Cat Fantasy, we have three ways to gain power:
(1) Level – Rank up – Stars
Not much to say, just level up as much as you can, and farm gear when stuck.
(2.1) Gear: Main Stats
In most games, we want crit rate for the best power. But in this game, it’s HP > ATK > DEF > etc. We have 6 gear slots:
- Top 2: HP
- Middle 2: DEF
- Bottom 2: ATK
The 3 on the left will have more base stats than the 3 on the right. With the game mechanic being that higher power goes first, it’s better to upgrade left HP, right HP, left ATK, and so on.
(2.2) Gear: Sub Stats
Most refine materials will come from Phantom Training and Phantom Colosseum (rush story to open). Clan shop level 3 will open when the clan reaches level 10. You can refine most of them to HP for more power too. But remember to keep orange and red: real stats like crit, crit damage, ATK, shield create, etc. The best support is SR Yunpei because everything she does needs HP. So even fake power isn’t really fake on her. We can fill all sub stats with HP on her. That 1 set of gear will give 40k power. Other cats will need some real stats, so they will have about 30k power on gear.
(3) Skin and Total Bonus
Need to invest in fishing and main dishes (in Cafe) for tips to upgrade skin. Maxing skills on 4 main characters will give about 7-9k power each, about 35k total. But there’s more: if you upgrade other characters’ skins too, every 10 levels will give you 8 HP stats on everyone, that’s about 72 power on the main team. So this is a good investment for the long run. You can also save stamina and buy Rank up materials with tips. Cafe is also the only way to get gold later. So try to upgrade the cafe as soon as you finish the story.
- Level all 1-ingredient dishes to S first.
Newbie Tips
- How good are your character’s damage types?
- Which character should you invest in first?
Early game: Less than 50% crit rate / crit damage
- Priority: Destruction > Demolish > Violent > Shatter
Mid game: 50-100% crit rate / crit damage
- Priority: Destruction > Violent > Demolish > Shatter
Late game: 100% crit rate / 250+% crit damage
- Priority: Shatter > Violent > Destruction > Demolish
Penetration and durability (mostly for 100+ tower):
- With bosses having 1-2k defense, penetration damage does 3x less damage than other types.
- With bosses having 4-5k defense and big durability buffs:
- Penetration does normal damage when others deal very low damage, even 1 damage.
- The same applies to True damage and Indirect damage.
- Higher when defense is high, lower when defense is low.
- But with a lower % difference compared to other types than Penetration damage.
- Approximately 1.5 times difference.
- Priority: Penetration damage > True damage > Indirect damage
Why?
- With targets that have buff immunity:
- Indirect damage doesn’t deal damage.
(Just like Destruction damage doesn’t get a bonus) - With targets that have very high Durability, True damage barely deals damage – okay, it still does 1 damage.
- But Indirect damage is easier to build.
- True damage needs high crit rate / crit damage.
- Penetration damage needs penetration and is the hardest to build.
So, because most bosses have low defense early:
- We’re going to build crit rate / crit damage on DPS characters.
- Then slowly make a penetration set from arena rewards.
- Shield / heal gear on supports with HP sub-stats.
- And tenacity, then durability for tanks.
