Heartwood Online – Talents Guide

Guide to Talents

By chifchi

Each class have specific talents they focus on.

For every level, you get 1 point automatically to 3 different talents. For every level up you get 2 free points to put anywhere you want.

The talent growth per level each class has is:

  • Priest and mage get 1 point to magic power, hp and hp regen.
  • Warrior and rogue get 1 point to Atk power, hp and hp regen.

Each talent has their own effect and formula.

Players have unearthed how some of those talents work.

Some of these talents are on a linear function, meaning that as you keep pumping points into it, it will keep growing up at the same rate. Some of these are: atk power, mag power, hp, hp regen. example: 6 mag or atk power increases your weapon’s damage range by 1 point.

Some are parabolical functions, meaning that as that talent keeps growing their benefits diminish, and eventually max out. some of these are:

  • Cooldown.
  • Armor.
  • Dodge.

Some are still being researched by players, we do not know their growth. we have no way to gauge these properly, like: crit chance, crit damage, focus, dodge (we haven’t been able to gauge it properly either, we do know from developers that dodge maxes out so it is parabolic).

Additionally, some talents have bigger effect when it comes to gear versus effect from talent points, some of these are: hp regen and armor.

The graph image is just an example so you can see how a linear vs a parabolic function affects the growth. The horizontal axis is basically how much you invest into it, the vertical axis is what you get.

General player consensus is go mag power for priest/mage, atk power for warrior/rogue. Hp if you need more survivability.
