Here is a game guide that will help you to learn many useful tips for playing for Artist class.
Gameplay FAQ
Why should I play this class?
Artist is a support that enjoys a very dynamic and engaging playstyle. By having nearly every trick up its sleeve and a teammate teleport it ends up having a very satisfying raid experience. Being a good Artist can rely on the player’s skill due to needing to constantly aim many of your buffs and utility at your team. She also has an amazing Identity that allows you to have a very consistent and solid damage buff or an individual heal for a lacking teammate.
How does my identity work?
As you attack you generate Identity, with enough generation you gain a full Harmony Orb, you can use these Orbs on two skills. Your Awakening will refill 2 Orbs.
Sunrise (1 Orb)
- Places an Orb with a time limit that can be picked up to receive an individual heal, the heal amount is equal to 25% of Artist’s total HP.
Full Bloom engraving adds: when placed instantly heals everyone within 24m an amount equal to 7/11/15% of Artist’s total HP.
Moonfall (2 Orbs)
- Costs 2 Orbs, increases damage by 10% for 10 seconds.
- The efficiency of this buff scales with the Specialization stat.

Can I go 50/50 Spec/Swiftness or full Spec?
No, Artist has relatively clunky skill animations without swiftness. Even with full swiftness some skills have long animations without Super Armor. Dropping any swiftness also reduces the effectiveness of your AP Buff, which is the main source of your damage.
Which skills are the most popular?
The skill setups are general purpose ones which will be more than sufficient to clear all content. Each build has its place, and it’s your job as a support to pick the right tools for the job.
When should I run Max MP Increase?
Artist generally has less problems with mana than Bard or 7y Paladin. Each skill level up to level 10 increases the mana cost of her skills, so by running skills such as Upward Stroke or Pouncing Tiger at level 7, it takes much longer to run out of mana, forgoing the need for a mana engraving.
There are also a lot of options to assist with your mana pool. Focus runes, MP bracelet effects, and Mana Food all can help if you find yourself struggling with mana. Depending on your gem levels, this is often enough to prevent you from reaching the dreaded gray button state.
Players who heavily invest in their Artist might find that eventually, those options are not enough for their gem levels. Between high level gems and the effect of the Luminary elixir, you will most likely need to add Max MP at some point. This problem can also come earlier if you choose to run more greedy meter based builds, running multiple Quick Recharge runes or a full skill bar at level 10.
Many artist players will eventually need to add Max MP Increase. However, you should wait until it is an actual problem before you try to fix it. If you are constantly running out of mana even with food, it can be a great option.
Why isn’t CJ recommended? Can I use it?
You can 100% use C/J if it fits your playstyle. The primary problem with running Conviction and Judgment is having to modify your rotation to account for it, this is because you can easily desync your rotation, a big reason to not use it. Good skills for Conviction and Judgment are: Sun Well and Drawing Orchids.
I’m struggling to keep track of my teammates’ health, any suggestions? What are some good settings to help me as a Support?
There are a few settings you can change in game to help with being a support. These are all entirely optional, change them to your liking.
Settings > Gameplay > Name Tags
- Here you can disable a ton of the titles/guildes/names people have to make it easier to keep track of specific people.
Settings > Gameplay > Combat Related Settings > Show Damage
- Here you can make your Damage font size very small or completely hide it altogether if you want to have the smallest amount of screen clutter.
Settings > Gameplay > Combat Related Settings > Show Combat / Pet
- Here you can do things like disable other peoples’ pets and combat effects to make the screen less cluttered for yourself.
Settings > Gameplay > Combat Related Settings > Show HP Bar
- This setting can help tracking your teammates’ HP Bars.
Settings > Community > Notifications and Interactions > Emoticon Settings > Adjust emoticon bubble size > Minimize
- This setting can help with Emote usage overlapping onto your teammates names/health bar.
Settings > Community > Macro Text
- Here you can assign a message you want to commonly use for communication, these are unique to each of your characters. Generally only used for Identity and Awakenings due to how long their CD is (I suggest having them sent to your party to not spam other members).
Settings > Hotkeys > Skills > Select Dropdown next to Skill
- You can now use any of these premade macros on a specific skill.
