Lost Ark – Sharpshooter FAQ

Gameplay FAQ

Death Strike

Moving Slash Tech

Even though we need Moving Slash for meter generation we can still utilize it as a mobility skill. Since the skill does an AOE slash you can position it to go around or along the side of a boss to give some important repositioning to get into a Support’s buffs or shields, or to dodge boss patterns. This is an incredibly important tool in the kit as it can allow more efficient damage windows and more consistent mobility in your rotation. This will require some practice as each boss has different hitboxes and learning them will take some time.

Can I run Spec?

Meter generation is now so significant that just wealth runes and decent tripod level are solid generation without any spec increase. However there are Spec variants of the build that can be played that replace your substat Swift for Spec. These builds can enjoy a bit of QOL for meter gen but can be harder to play since they are slower. Both builds have roughly the same ceiling, Spec edges it out depending on content. The average player will have a better time on Swift builds, but feel free to try out both in Trixion and go with the build that feels more fun to you.

Should I use Fenrir/Goldeneye?

Probably Goldeneye if you want to be at your peak performance, the only reason Fenrir is recommended is because newer players likely won’t do well with Awakening swaps or the average person just not wanting to put in the effort to edge the extra damage. You can push an extra 1-2% damage with a well timed Goldeneye as opposed to Fenrir which many will miss ticks on. If you are wondering what an Awakening swap is, essentially you make a preset with Awakening 3, Dominion gear set, and high Swiftness and Fenrir equipped, use Fenrir for full meter, then swap back to your standard build (this should be a bit over a minute CD on your awakening), you could also whale on stimulants.

How can I fix mana problems?

  • Food that regenerates Mana (Combat Resource Recovery)
  • Focus Runes on Charged Shot, Arrow Wave, Sharpshooter, Moving Slash
  • Use the alternate Crit + Spec build
  • MP Recovery roll on Bracelet
  • Summoner in your party
  • De-level Atomic Arrow to Level 7
  • Gatekeep poor performing/built Supports
  • Run DM42 instead of Arrow Wave,
  • Get Elixirs with MP or Resource Recovery rolls.

Why not Nightmare?

9/7 Builds overcap crit which can make it do good damage but only if you are not hitting boundless. If you use Unlimited Mana in Trixion the set looks really good but in real scenarios you will be consistently proccing boundless making it objectively worse as well as your hawk damage not utilizing mana. Be careful copying Loawa builds as many players at the top have quit the game for extended periods of time or have very specific requirements to make certain builds work.

Why Adrenaline 3 in 5×3 and not 5×3+1?

Early game you only have 5×3, level 2 set and probably lower quality accessories with a relic bracelet. Later on you can gain a bonus +1 engraving, higher quality on your accessories and your set upgrades. Adrenaline 3 gives us more overall damage when we are lacking those early crit sources, but once we gain 3% more crit from Hallucination level 3 and higher quality with the drop of Adrenaline 3 to 1 we end up with similar max crit rate while being able to invest in other damage engravings for a higher damage output.

Loyal Companion

What’s the best build?

In reality the damage difference between builds and skill selections is not significant enough to warrant degrading your experience over. 50-50 Crit Spec has the highest theoretical potential out of the meta builds (Dominion has higher but unlikely to actually perform better in a real fight) but in a real raid and depending on skill this can really change. I recommend either of the 50/50 builds (crit/swift or crit/spec) due to them having fairly similar performance late game as well as both beating out their full spec/full swift counterparts. Ultimately which you should choose comes down to personal preference and I suggest messing around in Trixion if you are struggling to decide. If you main the class then play a Spec variant.

Is Evasive Shot worth a Dmg Gem and running at 12?

In theory kinda yes but in practice kinda no. This is because Evasive Shot when used perfectly is only an absolute maximum of a 2-3% DPS increase. This requires you to use it on cooldown, head attack it every time, and completely drop your counter and ability to level another skill for utility. Not to mention the mana drain. It is a pretty overhyped skill in this regard because for the majority of players the damage gain would be barely 1%. Even if you do decide to use Evasive as a damage ability, Charged Shot & Silverhawk cooldown gems are better choices for the last gem slot, so an evasive gem should never be used.

Should I use Conviction + Judgment?

You can, if you are sacrificing your focus runes for them, you may have some mana problems due to it not giving back nearly as much mana as focus runes save you. It is a viable rune choice, but make sure you are using legendary. Common abilities used are multihits, things like Sharpshooter, Arrow Shower, Bladestorm, etc. The standard placements are Conviction on Sharpshooter and Judgment on Arrow Shower in which you reactively cast the latter when you see the former proc, or Conviction on Arrow Shower and Judgment on Sharpshooter, where you deliberately hold Sharpshooter and cast it right after you see Conviction trigger. The former does not impact your DPS as much, but the latter triggers faster and has a lower probability of failing to trigger.

I’m having mana problems. What should I do?

Always have a support, and use the mana tripods if necessary, make sure you are always using Focus runes and get food as a last resort, you can craft them for free at your stronghold.

Why not go Full Swift or Full Spec?

They are simply inferior builds due to Sharpshooter’s high value for Crit.

Full Swift used to be better but due to these changes it is just inferior.

  1. Severe Mana Issues
  2. Awakening No Longer required for Meter
  3. Hawk Shot new skill no Crit tripods (12% of ur damage)
  4. Charged Shot now uses Fast Fire tripod losing crit (12% of ur damage)

For Full Spec it is much more simple.

  1. Crit Stat + Other Damage Sources > Spec Stat + Crit Sources
  2. Spec is more costly.
  3. Loss of 10% Salvation Attack Speed

Both Full Swift and Full Spec are viable, they just have no redeeming qualities of playing them over the counterparts.

I hope you found this useful. Wishing you luck!
