Ludus: Merge Arena – Attack Ranges Guide

Attack Ranges Explained

By Blknight

The attack range of each Hero listed in their stats could possibly be the most important statistic of them all because it represents how and where that Hero should be placed & played on the Battlefields of LUDUS.

The game itself has designated certain Heroes into 5 different categories, they are as followed…

  • Close, Melee, Middle, Long & The Entire Board

We have named them Tanks & Support Units.

A Tank is a Hero that is considered to be your front line defence.

It will have the most amount of health in your army of 5. Allowing it to hold the line for as long as possible, taking on fire from the opposing team.

They normally have personnel abilities that will help them survive longer or affect the front line.

A Melee type Hero will be the Hero that you add to your army to give yourself a special advantage and possibly a leg up on your opponent.

They are a unique type of Hero that are very powerful and will have an amazing ability. They don’t have the hefty health of a Tank but they do add that extra bit of speciality to the frontline that the Tanks lack.

The Close range Heroes are very similar to both the Melee and the Tanks of the game.

There are not very many of them but they are very special. They also like to be close to the fronline helping and affecting the push forward.

They typically aren’t strong enough to be designated as your loan Tank but they do have special abilities that equal the Melee types of the game.

A Middle Hero will be the one hero that you add to your army that will be placed and played in the middle of the Battlefield.

Middle designated heroes will be able to shoot at the frontline supporting the push forward as they stay safely behind it.

The Long range Heroes will be the most powerful in your army of five. Many of the elite dps Heroes are placed in this category.

  • A Hero that is designated as Long is very similar to the Medium types.
  • They don’t have the large health stat to allow them to be close to the line.
  • They stay back from it, supporting it and at the same time being close enough to your Entire Board Heroes to defend them as well.

A Entire Board Hero will be the weakest & most vulnerable of the five in your army. However they can the most influential in it.

  • The Entire Board Heroes are probably some of the most special Heroes in the game.
  • They can either be very powerful rangers supporting the fight with ammunition.
  • They can also be a control unit helping distract your opponents Heroes.
  • Lastly, they could also be the support that you need in the back of the battlefield to overlook everything that’s going on in front of them.

The Support units are a very special and unique bunch Heroes.

  • Support Heroes are rare within the game but are highly effective when used correctly.
  • Like the Long and Entire Board units of the game, they won’t be having the most amount of health amongst the heroes in your army.
  • Meaning, they also need to be protected and placed at the back of the Battlefield.

The optimal placement of each Hero has a direct relation to the individual Buff pattern of that particular Hero.

The Buff pattern of each Hero represents where they need to be placed on the battlefield.

  • For example, a Tank won’t have any Buff above him and an Entire Board hero won’t have any Buff below him.
  • Meaning a Tank or Close type Hero is best placed at the top of the battlefield closest to the border of your opponent.
  • Whereas an Entire Board or Long Hero is best placed at the back of the board furthest away from your opponent.

The best opportunity to merge a Hero is when you have the full Buff pattern of the Hero being utilized to its maximum potential.

By having it overlap, already existing Heroes or rocks that are on the battlefield at the time of the merger.
