Mecha Domination: Rampage – Getting Started Guide

Getting Started Guide for New Players

By JavaFox.

I’ll be covering helpful tips on how to focus on development for both free-to-play (F2P) and pay-to-play (P2P) players.

Leveling Beasts and Their Benefits

Leveling all Beasts can be highly beneficial due to the passive skills they offer. All Beasts follow the same leveling milestones:

  • Level 26 unlocks the 1st skill
  • Level 51 unlocks the 2nd skill
  • Level 76 unlocks the 3rd skill

Reaching level 76 on a Beast gives you access to all three skills. You might wonder why it’s important to level all Beasts, especially if you don’t actively use some of them. Wouldn’t it make sense to focus experience (EXP) on your main Beasts? While that’s understandable, I personally believe these passive skills are incredibly helpful for development, especially in the long run.

Let’s take Sickleclaw (Free-to-Play Beast) as an example:

  • Skill 1: Construction Speed increase by 2%/4%/7%/11%/15%
  • Skill 2: Food Production and Gathering Rate increase by 5%
  • Skill 3: Enemy Attack Decrease and Rider Defense Increase by 4%/3%, scaling up to 20%/15%

Except for the enemy attack decrease, these are all passive skills. This means that leveling Sickleclaw to level 26 grants you a consistent construction speed boost. While 2% may seem small early on when building times are short (e.g., 2% of 30 minutes is 36 seconds), it becomes significant later when builds take days. For example, 2% of 7 days, 9 hours, 1 minute, and 53 seconds saves you 3 hours, 32 minutes, and 26 seconds—a huge time saver.

Now, which Beasts should you prioritize? You want to focus on the Beasts that can speed up your development without compromising your key Beasts for combat. Here’s a list of Beasts in my state that aid development. I’ve starred the ones I consider essential:

Nemesis

  • Construction Speed Boost
  • Building Upgrade Free Time

Subject #9

  • Infirmary Capacity
  • Healing Speed

Sickleclaw

  • Construction Speed
  • Food Gathering Speed
  • Food Hourly Generation

Spikeroller

  • Training Capacity
  • Water Gathering Speed
  • Water Hourly Generation

Pyrodra

  • Research Speed
  • Oil Gathering Speed
  • Oil Hourly Generation

Venomfang

  • Training Speed
  • Steel Gathering Rate
  • Steel Hourly Generation
  • Firespitter
  • Exploration Rewards
  • Vanguard Triceratops
  • Bonus Seraphite Fluxes for Capturing Beasts

Beast Tiers: When Should You Increase Them?

Now that we’ve covered useful passive skills, you might want to boost these benefits further. This is where merging or upgrading your Beast’s tier comes into play.

So, what are the tiers, and why are they important? Here’s a breakdown of key tiers:

  • Orange
  • Orange 1 Star
  • Red
  • Red 1 Star
  • Awakening
  • Awakening 1
  • Awakening 2
  • Awakening 3

For now, I’ll skip Awakening details for a future guide. The tiers from Orange to Red 1 Star are the most important for most players since they’re relatively easy to achieve for development purposes.

Suggested Beast Leveling for Skills and Tiers

I recommend leveling these Beasts to 76 to unlock all three skills, upgrading their tier as you can spare resources:

Nemesis

  • Construction Speed Boost

Subject #9

  • Infirmary Capacity

Sickleclaw

  • Construction Speed

Spikeroller

  • Training Capacity
  • Water Gathering Speed
  • Water Hourly Generation

Pyrodra

  • Research Speed
  • Oil Gathering Speed
  • Oil Hourly Generation

Venomfang

  • Training Speed
  • Steel Gathering Rate
  • Steel Hourly Generation

Most players should be able to get these Beasts to the Red tier, except for Nemesis, which is a pay-to-level Beast.

Exploration vs. Military Skills and Gathering Resources Faster

Each Beast in Mecha Domination has two types of skills: Exploration and Military. Each has three skills that you can use depending on the situation. When should you use each type?

Military Skills (used during combat):

  • Attacking Buildings (Labs, Forts, Alliance HQs, etc.)
  • Attacking Player HQs
  • Attacking Resource Tiles (though this is frowned upon by many)
  • Hunting Beasts (Seraphites, Beast Lairs, etc.)
  • Attacking in Chaotic Mines (also often considered a mean tactic)
  • Exploration Skills (used in PvE scenarios):
  • Arena
  • Exploration Missions

Once you’ve improved your Beast skills, the next hurdle is managing resources. Resources will always be a challenge, but here are a few tips to help you gather more efficiently:

Trade with Alliance Members: Make sure your Trading Station is upgraded. Trading can yield faster resource collection compared to farming tiles. For example, I can farm 10 million food and water through trading in about 3 hours.

Farm Resource Tiles: After completing daily activities, send your troops to resource tiles instead of leaving them idle.

Manage Survivors: Allocate survivors to boost generation of high-demand resources like Steel, Oil, and Flux. My personal allocation looks like this:

  • Food: 1/6 (+10% Food Generation)
  • Water: 1/6 (+10% Water Generation)
  • Flux: 6/6 (+60% Flux Generation)
  • Steel: 6/6 (+60% Steel Generation)
  • Oil: 6/6 (+60% Oil Generation)

By following these strategies, you can improve your development speed significantly, whether you’re F2P or P2P.
