How to Collect Maze Coins
Where to Find Maze Coins
Maximum of 225 maze coins become available every 4 hrs. Maze coins are distributed into different pools within the game and you need to go around collecting each of them by performing the required actions.
Maximum coins available per pool:
- Gold: 30 maze coins.
- Food: 50 maze coins.
- Feed: 30 maze coins.
- Breed: 50 maze coins.
- Hatch: 50 maze coins.
- PvP: 15 maze coins.
You need to keep track of 4 hrs, login and perform the necessary collections. Advice: Use your alarms.
The Mechanics
Maze coins can reside in three places within the game:
- Within each pool listed above
- Within your possession once you collect the coins
- Within a “loading area”
What is a loading area?
Let me introduce two terminologies that I’ll be using in my explanations:
- “Loading” is when you perform an action during mazes that “loads” the maze coins
- “Triggering” is when you perform an action that releases the loaded maze coins into your possession
Facts about “loading area”:
- Loading moves coins from the pool into the loading area. This allows the pools to accumulate coins again.
- Loaded coins last forever, even after the maze is over. This is why sometimes you see coins after the maze. You have loaded coins but didn’t trigger during the maze.
- Loading area has no limit. This is why sometimes you see 100 coins from hatchery.
Load and Trigger for Each Pool
Here are the loading and triggering for each type of action:
- Gold: When you collect gold from habitats you are loading the coins. After a few seconds, when you collect another gold, you are triggering (and loading if there are more coins in the gold pool)
- Food: When you collect food from farms, you are loading the coins. After a few seconds, when you collect another food, you are triggering (and loading if there are more coins in the food pool)
- Feed: When you feed a monster, you are loading the coins. After a few seconds, when you feed one more time, you are triggering (and loading if there are more coins in the feed pool)
- Hatching: When you move a monster from breeding tree into hatchery, that’s loading. Doesn’t work when you hatch a monster from storage or purchase egg from the shop. Then, when you hatch any other monster (a treezard that you bought for example), that will trigger the coins.
- Breeding: When you breed a monster, this action loads and triggers at the same time
- PvP: When you win PvP, this action loads and triggers at the same time
Load and Trigger Closing Thoughts
Now, it’s possible to load but not trigger. Let’s say that you move a thunder eagle to the hatchery, but forgot to hatch any monsters. In that case, the 50 coins are just waiting.
Then, let’s say that after 4 hrs, you have another thunder eagle in your breeding tree that you move onto the hatchery also. Since 4hrs have passed, this will LOAD another 50 coins onto the hatchery. This means that when you put a treezard onto the hatchery and hatch it, you will trigger all the coins that were loaded, meaning 100 coins.
Notice that you don’t lose the coins once loaded. You just get it all when you perform the trigger action.
In summary, when you load coins, you are moving the coins out of the pool so that the pools can refill, but they are not in your possession until you trigger.
Gold
Loading:
- Max coins per habitat = 5
- Number of coins loaded is related to the percentage of gold accumulated in the habitat
- 0 coin, less than 20%
- 1 coin, 20% to less than 40%
- 2 coin, 40% to less than 60%
- 3 coin, 60% to less than 80%
- 4 coin, 80% to less than 100%
- 5 coin, 100%
A simple way to load coins is by clicking on a “collect gold” bubble on a habitat, then clicking on “Collect All” button at the top right corner of the screen. However, the amount of coins that you can collect is still subject to the rules stated above.
Trigger coins by collecting once from any habitat, amount of gold doesn’t matter for triggering. You can even collect from one that you’ve already collected.
Food
Loading:
- Collecting 1 Black Lotus Root will load 50 coins
- Collecting 1 Winged Angel Bean will load 25 coins
- Collecting 1 Garden Rocket will load 12 coins
- Collecting 1 Rainbow Snow Pea will load 3 coins
- Collecting anything cheaper will load 1 coin
Collecting any food will trigger the loaded coins.
Unless you have gold for the expensive foods, use Blue Lizard Tails (cheapest food) and keep making them until you get 50 coins.
Feed
Load maze coins by feeding monster(s):
- If you can afford it, feed any Legendary monster lvl 30 or higher by 2 levels.
- If you can’t afford to do that, feed a C, UC, R, or E monster at low levels (1 to 11 should do it) until you get 30 coins.
Feeding any monster once (one tomato) will trigger coins.
Breed
Load and trigger maze coins by starting a breed. The total breed time determines the amount of coins you will receive.
- Breed time >= 3hr yields 50 coins
- Breed time == 2.5hr yields 41 coins
- Breed time == 2hr yields 33 coins
- Breed time == 1hr yields 16 coins
- Breed time <= 6min yields 1 coin
In the past, thunder eagles were ideal because they took 4hrs to breed and hatch, and maze coins fully reload in 4 hrs. Thunder eagles are no longer ideal because they produce 1 coin.
New options are as follows.
- Using 2 breeding trees and 2 hatchery slots – alternate breeding epic monster on each tree, every 4 hrs. See Guaranteed Epic breeding combinations below.
- Using 1 breeding tree and 1 hatchery slot – breed 50 Firesaurs (C-fire with C-fire) – takes minimum 12.5 minutes
Guaranteed Epic breeding
- Breed C-nature with C-thunder
- Breed C-fire with C-light
- Breed C-magic with C-earth
- Breed C-dark with C-water
(For all of these breeds, single-element Mythic can also be used)
Hatch
Load maze coins when you move a monster from the breeding tree to the Hatchery.
- Same coin distribution as breed based on hatching times.
Trigger the coins when you hatch ANY monster. If you have hatchery space, you can buy a firesaur from the shop then hatch / sell it. If not, you can just wait to hatch the monster that you just put on.
