Guide to Warlock Build
By Desportae.
My current build is what I call the Grind King. I designed it to do the 99 level grind. So my absolute priority was an easy combat rotation that I could use for 4+ hour grind sessions. Secondarily, I balanced clear speed, dungeon flexibility, and survival. It is NOT hardcore friendly, nor will it set dungeon records or DPS records. But it is easy to maintain a high XP per hour rate, so please be friendly in your commentary.
Lich tree: I chose to put points into Icy Death because it provided an easy to maintain DPS increase with minor debuff. Panic Strike was chosen over HV because of the duration. The rest is pretty standard.
Plaguebearer: My choices here are a bit strange. ED is meant for supplementary damage but mostly used to target rear mobs. Profane Spirit was chosen for additional damage.
Gear priorities were all talents > 2-hand blunt/secondary stats > all stats > STR/DEX > stuff that influences lich form. I used monk elite set for wrists/gloves/back, exceptional set for boots (love the 2-hand blunt). My choices for belt/robe/hat will probably cause some WTF, but in my parses, I saw the biggest increases by maximizing passive skills. For rings, I used cleric exceptional because the +arcane talent affects lich form/mastery. Shoulders/neck/legs are self-explanatory.
Weapon is my true love. I’d like to say it was mine, but it was loaned to me by my good friend Sejl for the 99 push.
The results: My best single fight DPS is 310k; I can hit 270k regularly with the right party comp. I could only find a pic of 220k. For entire dungeon averages, I typically get between 125-175k. Now that I’ve hit 99, I’m probably going to do a complete revamp with a focus on breaking self DPS records (so poison heavy).
