Noita – Guide to Selective Multi-Waypoints

Selective Multi-Waypoints

What it does

Allows you to set up a fast travel network, which allows you to quickly teleport to up to 24 Waypoints of your choice. As all waypoints, these break once you restart the game.

Leave a crystal or hollow egg, and let it unload, releasing a Loop in the now unloaded chunk. This loop triggers each time that Explosive Detonator is used. On activation, a Homebringer TB is created, and teleported near the player, in a pre-determined direction. The player then catches the right Homebringer to teleport to the desired location.

How to create a Waypoint

  • Choose a number N between 0-23 to identify the waypoint.
  • Re-arrange the 6 projectile-spells at the end, so that there are N projectiles to the left of Homebringer (see example).
  • Cast the wand once, leaving a crystal on the floor.
  • Leave the area to let the chunks unload, before activating!

How to activate it

  • Wash off any whiskey stain you might have (spread is bad).
  • Cast Explosive Detonator, or Spells to Acid once. Wait at least one second between activations, or you might break things.
  • Catch the homebringer that shoots out at N/2 o clock.
  • Optional: replace the Waypoint
  • Waypoint 0’s Homebringer shoots straight upwards, then count purple projectiles clockwise in half-hour steps (see example)

Example

  • Spark bolt accounts for 1 projectile, triplicate is 3, infestation is 6 and freezing gaze is 12.
  • The picture is arranged for slot 16 (Freezing Gaze, Triplicate Bolt, and Spark Bolt add a total of 16 projectiles to the left of Homebringer).
  • Its homebringer will shoot off at 16/2=8 o clock.

Once you load any of the waypoints, for example by using that one, you will need to recreate that one before you can use it again.

Downside

It will leave a permanent, and almost impossible to remove, (burning) Mist of Spirits behind. You can move those out of the way using Giga/Omega Black/White Holes.

Improved version

It stores the mist far away, so it is not in the way, doesn’t need replacement an can be re-used.

With this design, you need to face east, when placing a waypoint. It will be ready for use in less than 2 seconds, no need to unload it first. If you are very close to one of the waypoints when activating, this one’s Hombering might be misaligned from boomerang. Others will fire as normal.

This is 35 slots, you can reduce the number of waypoints, and replace spell divide 4, spell divide 2 and spell divide 2 with spell divide 10, to save another 2 slots, but lower than 31 seems to require a different approach.

Since questions will probably come up:

  • The first Dormant crystal has an expiration trigger, and is a natural wisp, thats all we need to put it somewhere and release its payload in unloaded chunks once you leave.
  • The second Dormant crystal is hit by the mist, starting the loop. Pollen would usually be used here, but crystal is much more consistent for some reason.
  • Mist creates a delayed Spellcast wisp on every hit. this DS sits on top of the mist, waiting for you to cast Explosive Detonator
  • Explosive detonator kills DS, but keeps the mist alive
  • DS releases pollen when killed, which is hit by the mist completing the loop
  • Glittering field sets speed to 0, so LDC can fall due togravity. This releases the formation aligned downwards.
  • The first projectile added to the formation shoots backwards (which is straight up for our downwards-aligned shot), the next projectiles are added clockwise in equal distance to complete the circle.
  • Spark bolts, triplicate, infestation and freezing gaze add specific amount of projectiles, allowing you to re-order them, so that HB can occupy each of the 24 slots.
  • If you load one of the waypoints accidentally, it will continue to work until it is unloaded again. You will see this one’s homebringe fire off when this happens, which conveniently alerts you about this
