Ratopia – How to Increase Happiness

Guide to Increase Happiness

By Femboy Crusader

Explanation

Ratizens have various categories that they derive up to 10 happiness/unhappiness from. As you advance in prosperity levels and as ratizens start entering the middle and upper classes, more and more of those categories become activated and then become more and more impactful.

At PL 1 and 2, you don’t need to provide more than a toilet and food to maintain ~50 happiness. At 3 and above, you’ll find they really start becoming disgruntled if they don’t have entertainment or necessities.

Also, make sure you don’t run out of money. Ratizens will become very pissed off very fast when that starts happening.

Economy

The key is to expand your economy and what you provide to the various ratizens sufficiently to keep up with rising PL and economic classes and the wants and demands that come with it.

But not to the extent that you either go bankrupt or have to assign so many ratizens to producing and providing fancy stuff that you can no longer meet basic needs such as food provision and military defense.

Tips

Don’t look to provide cosmetics and dumbbells and cake to all of your people at PL 3 or 4, probably not even 5. They don’t need them to be happy, anyway. I believe they only need to fulfill wants for one or two things for joy and hygiene and food their economic class (e.g, they don’t need a Bathhouse, Massage Bed, Laundry, AND a Toilet to get +5-10 happiness from hygiene- you only need to provide one or maybe two).
