Rogue Tower – How to Beat Quadruple Defense

Beating Quadruple Defense Using Only Ballistas

Preparations

The march of the monsters mode is easier for this challenge. You get 2x upgrade cards, which makes your build more consistent, especially in the early game.

Get all the upgrades for ballistas, mortars, and teslas. Pick one more tower to access all the left side upgrades. Get ALL the left side upgrades (dots, mines, universities, etc.). If you can get all the starter upgrades without banditry, skip it. Mines and universities are essential for scaling up in the late game.

You need at least 4 houses to start or leave the map. Less than 4 makes it hard to defend and earn money. Restart if you get a bad generation.

Split ballistas by the tower. Have some for progress and others for slow, most shield, and most armor. Place the slow/most/most ballistas further away and some progress ballistas near the tower.

General Strategies

  • Road generation is the most important thing. You need roads that go along with each other so you can place ballistas covering at least 2 paths (3 or 4 is ideal). Open all 4 roads and see if they go together. If 1 or 2 split off, that’s okay. Expand and see if they curve back in the next few rounds. Restart if at least 2 don’t curve back. Maintain distance between waves. A lot of your defenses will be near your base. If monsters from all paths come at the same time, you’ll lose in later waves. Try to keep a 2-tile difference between paths. Watch out for straight tiles, as they can make enemies arrive faster than curved ones. Your lowest paths should be at least 3-4 tiles long.
  • Enemies are the second most important thing. On wave 25, avoid robots. On wave 35, you need plutonic solids, or the run is lost.
  • Early game, focus on health damage, armor damage, and dots. Try to get slow for Oogie. Get shield and haunted houses by wave 15. Then get crits and dot cards, especially the one that deals 10% dot damage. Skip mana upgrades, but eventually get mana bolts. You can pick up siphons early to get mana bolts level 1, as they’re easy to maintain.
  • Level up your ballistas in the late game to around level 5-8. At this point, they cost 1000+ and upgrades give them a lot of damage, so it’s worth it.
  • On wave 44, sell your haunted houses for a final boost to your defenses. Sell universities when wave 45 starts, as they’re no longer useful.

I hope this was helpful to you!
