Update your Standard Banner Wishlist
The rules state that you can only get characters in your wishlist, so make sure to update this first.
What are Mercenaries?
Mercenaries are commonly refered to as “Friend units”, you can select two units in your roster to be your mercenary and each time a friend uses them you are given mercenary coins which can be exchanged for a random reward.
In order to use your friend’s mercenaries, click on the Deploy button in the battle menu, and click the button in the area highlighted below. Only two mercenaries can be used daily so make them count!
You cannot use the same character as a mercenary, so for example, if you have a deployed unit like Sia, but want to borrow a friend’s Sia, you must remove your own Sia before using your friend’s.
Is there a tier list? What about team recommendations?
Yes there is a tier list, but they all suck and lack context. A character that is S tier could be bad in a specific game mode but the best in everything else. Instead I’ll provide a team recommendation.
Team Recommendations:
Green
- Core Team Members: Sia & Freyja
- Other Members: Leila, Shale & Melissa
- Special Mention: Mea – for disrupting enemies and give party time to use their ultimates.
Substitutes:
- Melissa -> Itus or other tanks
- Shale -> Any Supports such as Rayhou, Yurizia or Hallona
- Leila -> can be subbed for any non-crit based DPS or a secondary support/tank depending on needs.
Blue
- Core Member: Patricia
- Semi-Core: Erica, Hallona
- Other Members: Renas, Itus
Substitutes:
- Renas -> iD or any non-Attacker type DoT DPS
- Itus -> Snopril or Melissa
Note: Erica has a strong interaction with Patricia which makes her more powerful, but there are situations where its better to bring a different DPS such as iD due to their AoE potential.
Much like the GREEN team, adjustment should be made in different scenarios, there will be situations where having two or even 3 tanks, 2 or even 3 supports is necessary.
Red
- Core Members: Yuna, Fei, Belebeta
- Other Members: Yurizia, Ambrosia
Substitues:
- Ambrosia -> Itus, Melissa or 2nd support such as Shale or Rayhou
- Yurizia -> can be replaced by units listed above
Note: due to the unique nature of Yuna’s ability to dodge & heal, a tank may lose some of its value. Unfortunately, this team is only useful in specific scenarios, namely boss battles, and is not recommended unless used as a Tertiary team.
This team however, is specifically useful in Supply Search – Optimization Stage with its requirement of 3 attackers.
Flexible Characters
Listed below are characters that are great in most stages and game modes, or are often used as substitutes.
- Red: iD, Yurizia
- Green: Sia, Freyja (with Sia), Shale, Melissa
- Blue: Patricia, Erica (with Patricia), Hallona, Itus, Snopril
- Light/Dark: Rayhou, Mea
Niche & Special units
Niche units are units that excel in specific scenarios or game modes. Special units are units that are regarded as good units but become exceptional in certain scenarios or game modes.
- Data Tower: Melissa
- Adventure: Freyja
- World Boss: Ferrel, Ino, Isabella
- Special use: Balencia (skill cooldown reduction)
- Special Mention: Leila & Angelica together.
How do I properly promote characters?
Refer to the in-game guide here.
Red/Green/Blue are regular core units. Light/Dark are special core units and follow a different ruleset.
A rule of thumb. Only use “original SR” fodder if it is asking for a non-specific unit. This happens when promoting from SSR1 to UR, UR1 to MR & MR to MR1.
The game will warn you if you are about to use valuable units as “fodder” so don’t worry!
What are academy badges? What are the best one for each unit?
Academy badges are passive that increase a specific units stats. You trade in Enrollment tickets to gain a bad.
There are 3 classes, which is unlocked as you progress through Adventure Mode. Once you unlock 2nd class, a character MUST have a badge from the first class before they are allowed to obtain a class in the 2nd and 3rd class.
A list of the best traits to find can be found here. Use translate programs like google translate.
Note: “Big Move” refers to Ultimate.
