Stranded: Alien Dawn – Useful Tips and Tricks (Food, Exploration and Survivors)

Tips and Tricks

If I could only put one tip, it would be rush Exploration – Absolutely cracked starts. Infinite resources, breakthroughs, etc. Can have imp sniper by day 3-5 if you get lucky with a cargo pod brief case exploration or armory bay.

Turn off your cooked meals consumption until it’s 0% and turn it back on when your survivors are “starving” and near your landing pod until you have food straightened out.

You can cancel a meal by drafting or forcing a task on a survivor when they are 100/100 fullness and they will finish that meal later. If you don’t have a table and they are in the field.

Speaking of eating on foot. In restrictions you can select, eat on food, sleep on group and fight back attackers.

IMHO skill importance order goes such as…

  • Combat > Intellect > Crafting > Construction > Farming > Healing > Physical > Cooking.

You can go whole playthroughs without cooking. It’s not necessary.

Your seed is Wicked important. Strongest seeds in my opinion are Wicked, Youth-Order, and Dinner-Oven. Great defensive base locations right next to start and they both have excellent breakthroughs and tons of crash sites to scavenge next to your initial crash(Wicked has like 30 on whole map at start). Y-O and D-O also have the battleship exploration which is so broken it shouldn’t be in the game. Unlocks Auto turrets for free.

When scavenging and exploring, every outcome is tied to in game time. Make note of it and save scum if you want to. My only problem with this game is the variability in what can happen just because you went on an expedition at 1AM vs 2AM. I can get two snipers in 1 debris or go 12 without a single weapon.

  • Top 5 Vanilla survivors are Ken, Nova, Sora, Krista and Laara.
  • Start hunting immediately for easiest low maintenance food source.
