SUPERVIVE – Quick Tips for Shrike

Shrike Tips

By Ryfok.

Apparently people are under the impression that since shrike m1 is gated behind a charge, it is mostly out of control weather they land it or not. Being the brall player I’m, I have a couple counters/suggestions to shrike players.

  • People do in fact have pretty predictable dodge patterns. You can charge your shot and aim your laser or whatever at a person and flick it last second obviously.
  • Like it or not this is a team game, so maybe she’s not good with certain comps that facilitate your safety or give good cc to land easy shots.
  • Other players attention is limited. You can abuse this. Start aiming at someone with a different target in mind. This does two things, you pull the attention of t1 and force them to try and dodge then have an easier time landing shot on t2 flicking to them because they anticipated or didn’t even notice you aiming at t1.
  • Play counter dive well with squishy team. Lemme tell you if someone diving your team and is not focusing on you it’s pretty easy to land shots while they whoopin your dog teammates.

Shrike from the looks of it noob stomps and then becomes increasingly difficult to pull off at higher levels. But what’s wrong with that? It will make mastery all the more satisfying.

  • If I ever see any of you using bird bomb aggressively im reporting you. If I remember correctly the farther you cast, the more time people have to react due to travel time. Even if that were not the case, it is way way way too valuable for you to basically ever use it outside of a scenario where there is no possible way for someone to gap close.
  • Something you need to understand fundamentally is that the pressure of your m1 is what you are using, not the damage.

For example if you have ever played overwatch you know what it feels like to play against widow. She forces you into considering your positioning very carefully, I can’t peek here I can’t fly here.

This game is about your team’s ability to dance around positioning, taking space, giving it up. (this is also why spiking is such an amazing addition since it is adding a new tool to the fundamental gameplay and win con).

To come back to the point I was making, you need to be thinking about how your targeting, your los and positioning contribute to taking space and holding it. Pressuring someone from peeking, pressuring from pushing, pushing someone out of space your team wants to take. It is not about the damage.

  • Take positions that puts the least amount of enemies in your effective range. while maintaining close proximity to your allies.
  • Play at max range. you got a sniper use it.
  • Isolate angles, its much harder to walk at a shrike if theres only one way through cause you can just spam that angle.
  • Dont get your cd’s baited, be very patient.

Example of what not to do.

Why are we so close. Why are we throwing cc on someone whos just going to dodge it, why are we not putting our fat a** teammates between me and enemy. Also to my first point I had made about people being predictable. Being able to read weather or not someone is looking to be aggressive is a great tell. Someone whos low health will almost always move towards cover keep shooting between them and cover and either they sit there in the open you walk into your shots.

Someone who is being aggressive and thinks they can kill you will obviously do the opposite, they will be looking to inch closer.

Once again the same player making the same mistake. What are we we bombing here, the felix still has dashes and ult.

Moments later they prioritize getting damage off, stepping forward after using cc into 2 highly mobile hunters. Really they are making like 30 mistakes here. Cause theyve put themselves as the closest target for the entire enemy team.

  • Different player.
  • Throwing out cc.

This time my teammate instead of walking up and holding the point back around where elluna is standing decided to come to the same off angle I am holding. And doesnt even hold the choke point at max range.

This is her moments later because she sees enemies and wants to shoot at them.
