Timberborn – Lesser Known Tools Guide

Here are some less obvious tools that may be useful to you.

List of Lesser Known Tools

  • You can select one of the bars or the button in the top left to open detailed information panels. Shortcut “G”.
  • On hover, you can read text since you might not know the images by memory.
  • The 4th bar is hidden until you have bots unlocked.

This provides district well-being. The values will change based on what item 5 reads.

  • You may select this for a more detailed breakdown of how many beavers are meeting certain needs.
  • You may, outside of this panel, select one of your beavers for a similar view without pausing the game, as well as seeing what buffs your well-being is giving you.

On hover, it will tell you your exact science instead of rounding.

Selecting one of the bars will collapse the stack, like the middle one.

You can view your current active district here (if you have a building selected that has an entrance), or select a district to view the stats for. Areas 1 and 2 will change based on this.

Brings up an overlay of your warehouses, indicating type and quantity stored. Shortcut hold “Tab”.

Toggle water visibility.

Set beaver work day length. Default 16. If you want more well-being, lowering this slowly in increments will help you. The increase in well-being (and therefore workspeed and movement buffs) can make a large difference in overall output. Plus happy beavers.

A tool to let you look through buildings. Placed a bunch of platforms on top of each other and now you need to build paths or power shafts on it? This will help. Shortcut hold “Alt” + scroll mousewheel up or down.

Note that if you alt-tab sometimes alt will register as down for this tool, and interfere with other actions. If you’re having difficulties interacting with things, tap Alt and it may fix your problem.

On-hover tooltips

  1. Quantity stored in buildings that produce this item.
  2. Quantity stored in warehouses and maximum storage of this item.
  3. Storage type.

Holding shift when using deletion tool or “Del” will suppress destruction confirmation.

Pressing “Esc” or the red box with sliders in the lower right will bring you to a menu. From here, you can find a list of keybinds.

In that menu, you can also adjust some settings, like “unlock camera” (recommended to most) or “run in background” (game doesn’t load in the background without this, so no tabbing away when you’re loading into a save).
