Void Crew – Best Loadout for a Solo Lone Sentry Playthrough

Solo / Lone Sentry Loadout Guide

Solo Brain Layout

The limiting factor for Brain ship design is power and if you find a 3rd Brain Gun.

3rd Brain Gun, No Sacred Power Conduit (+4 Power Relic)

  • Bow: Helm (-1), Ship Power (+6).
  • Starboard: L3 Brain Benediction (-3), L3 Brain Whatever (-3), L3 Brain Cannonade (-3).
  • Port: L3 Generator (+4), L1 Scoop (-2), L3 Shields (Port/Bow, -2).
  • Aft: L3 Generator (+4), L3 Shields (Starboard/Aft, -2).

Starting power is 6 and each L3 Generator is +4, so 2 Gens brings the total to +14. The non-gun systems total to -7. Add Power Mods to the Brain Guns to balance the remaining +7 vs -9.

Swap Outs

  • Vs Frost & Fire Matriarchs switch Scoop for Life Support and set it to opposing temperature along with enhancing Life Support when you enter.
  • Vs Frost remove port Shields, move Aft Gen to the open slot and then add in a PDC to the now open Aft slot.
  • In the areas leading up to the Turret Boss which have shield disruption, replace Shields with PDC; you’ll get more mileage out of it.

Each Sacred Power Conduit lets you skip out on building a Gen. You can use the free slot to add in another Gen and run no Power Mods on the Brain Guns, or you can run a permanent PDC (only costs 1 Power).

Tips for a Solo Run on the Lone Sentry for Endless

Concentrate most of your firepower on one side. At the start, I like to move both brains to one side of the ship so I have a higher damage output to a target. Put a point defense on the opposite side of your BRAINS to help deal with mines and bomber shots. Power is difficult to manage early on, and a point defense is incredibly useful, while only taking 1 power draw regardless of tier, meanwhile shields can get power hungry.

In fact, the point defense is your only counter to bombers if they get a shot off and you are unable to evade. I am not comfortable flying without PD if I don’t have a gunner.

Run the grappling hook regardless of your class if you are playing solo. The grappling hook lets you traverse your ship really fast, and is a massive time saver for EVA. When I play solo, I usually take the hook, then throw the rest of my points in pilot. Sometimes I will multi-class with engineer a little, but you really just need the grappling hook and pilot upgrades.

The hook, if you practice, find the right angle and jump, you can shoot yourself all the way through the door and into the helm. It can also be used to throw yourself to the engine room, charge your boosts, and throw yourself back to the helm.

Makes repairing hull faster too. It’s just a really useful ability if you need to fill multiple roles.

Shields are great, but they are not perfect. Bombs and mines go through, and if you get too use to it, you get lazy with flying and start taking hits. Remember to fly like you have no shield even if you run one.

Other than that, remember that all runs must eventually come to an end. Endless can get a bit boring on a small ship by yourself.

I personally prefer to just make an open lobby and run a pilgrimage alone. People start piling in before the end and then I switch to the large ship after the pilgrimage is over when I have a crew.
