If you can deal enough damage before the final orb, you can skip the last phase entirely. Kyros’ ultimate is really good for that.

Alternately, if you’re good at the super dash (which Ven and Lora can do), it’s possible to make it to other platforms without grappling. So you can skip the small fries on the final phase.

• The final phase is a dps race, the fight up to that is mostly just surviving and chipping away at his health.
• Kill the adds, open the hookshot to the next platform and keep going before he gets to you.
• If you’re dying to it, you may want to consider changing up your build or changing up your gear a bit.
• He’s a bit of a wall, but is definitely doable!

Notes

The orbs that you hookshot out of his body in the “middle” and final phases transfer overkill damage back to the main health bar, so saving up Big Attacks for them you can finish the fight without having to do the last phase at all.

Another trick with Lora specifically is to save Possession for the orbs phase and let the vine bombs go off before knocking out an orb. It seems to me that this reflected damage goes straight through to Vendraal without taking the orb down so you can “double dip” on at least one orb, two if you’re lucky and quick on your feet.

When I get lucky with Lora I can reliably drop Vendraal before the end of the first orbs phase (!!!), but when I don’t I 100% get sucked into the DPS race vs. little dudes with Possession on cooldown and then it is frustrating times for sure.
