YaoLing Types and Stats
YaoLing can have up to 3 special types. These types can exist together.
Elite YaoLing:
- Have a crown icon on their picture in the inn
- Look bigger in the game
- Have at least one stat with very high growth potential
- Are always hostile on the map
- Always spawn in the same places
- The four story boss YaoLing can’t be Elite
Alternate Color YaoLing:
- Have different colors
- Are not common
- Look the same as normal YaoLing in the list
Shiny YaoLing:
- Are the rarest type
- Have a rainbow border in the unit list
- Have sparkles around them
- Have at least two stats with maximum growth potential
- Come with a special talent
YaoLing have six attributes. Each attribute has a growth potential. You can see how much they will grow each level. The current max level is 70, but it might go up to 99 in the future.
You don’t need to get the highest growth potential for all stats. HP, ATK, and MAG are usually good to max out. Some YaoLing are naturally weak in certain stats, so improving those stats doesn’t help much.
Elements and Ailments
There are nine elements in YaoLing:
- Fire
- Ice
- Lightning
- Wind
- Poison
- Darkness
- Pierce
- Concussion
- Slash
When a YaoLing attacks, it can build up an element on the target. When the bar fills up, it causes a debuff. This buildup goes down over time. Some talents can stop it completely.
Pierce, Concussion, and Slash are physical elements. The others are elemental. This matters for some talents.
Not all ailments are equally useful. Darkness and Fear can be annoying. Stun, Frozen, Paralysis, and Vulnerable are very helpful. Poison and Bleed work well on bosses.
Each YaoLing has a specific damage type for their normal attacks. This might be different from their ability damage type.
It gets harder to cause debuffs on higher-level targets. For tough bosses, it’s better to focus on a few damage types instead of using many different ones.

YaoLing Breeding Guide: Getting Components
It’s best to breed only 1 or 2 YaoLing types at a time. This keeps things simple.
Steps:
- Find the YaoLing you want to breed.
- Capture breeding components:
- 1 Shiny YaoLing
- 1 Alternate Color YaoLing
- 1 Elite YaoLing (if you want)
- Useful Legendary Traits
To get rare YaoLing, use the Save and Load method:
- Go to where the rare YaoLing is.
- Save the game.
- Start a battle with the YaoLing.
- Check the enemy list for good traits.
- If you want a YaoLing, catch it and save.
- If not, escape and reload.
- Repeat until you get what you want.
It might take about 100 tries to get a Shiny.
Another way to get Shinies is through the Heart Stone gacha:
- Breed lots of eggs
- Delete unwanted eggs for heart crystals
- Use the Jade Tree’s blessing for guaranteed Shiny eggs
This method is easier but doesn’t help with Elite or Alternate Color YaoLing.
Egg Names Explained
Egg names have three parts:
- Size
- Talents
- Element
Size:
This shows how many potential points the YaoLing has.
- Tiny: 6 points
- Small: 7-11 points
- Medium: 12-17 points
- Large: 18-23 points
- Huge: 24-29 points
- Giant: 30-35 points
- Colossal: 36 points
Bigger eggs cost more to hatch. A Colossal egg costs about 2200 to hatch.
Talents:
This part tells you about the YaoLing’s talents, mainly how many Legendary Traits it has.
- 0 Legendary Traits: Tapered, etc.
- 1 Legendary Trait: Perfect
- 2 Legendary Traits: Pristine
- 3 Legendary Traits: Dazzling
- Shiny: Has a Shiny SE Trait (this overrides other descriptions)
More Legendary Traits make the egg cost more to hatch, but not as much as size does.
Element:
This just shows the YaoLing’s element type. It doesn’t matter much for breeding.
YaoLing Breeding Guide: Managing Eggs and Units
This part shows how to breed YaoLing with an example. The goal is to create a Colorful Shiny Tifur with two special traits: Perfection and Elite Heritage. Read the Egg Naming section first to understand this better. Tifurs don’t have Elite forms, which makes things easier.
Why Naming Matters
YaoLing doesn’t have good unit management, so it’s hard to organize breeding. You can rename units to help with this. Go to the Inn to rename your units. Names don’t have to be unique, so you can use the same name for many units. Here’s a simple way to name units:
How to Name Breeding Units
- Use letters to show special types: E for Elite, S for Shiny, C for Alternate Color.
- Add the YaoLing’s name. Keep it short.
- Show the YaoLing’s type: M for Yang, F for Yin.
- If you want, add short codes for special talents.
For example, a unit might be named “STifurM”. For special talents, use short codes or numbers.
Step 1: Breeding for Special Talents
The goal is to combine the special talents you want. Here are some important points:
- Special talents are very likely to be passed down, up to two of them.
- Shiny talents take up one talent slot. You can have up to 3 special talents (called Dazzling).
- It’s not a good idea to try for 3 special talents because the third one often changes to something random.
- Shiny talents are random each time you breed.
- Regular talents can change when breeding. You might get good or bad ones.
We do this step first because:
- Once we start breeding Shinies, we can’t see how many special talents we have.
- Shiny YaoLing need at least 2 perfect stats, which makes breeding harder and more expensive.
You can start adding color at this stage. Try to get a few colored Tifurs with both special talents.
Tips:
- Hatch eggs with lower potential first. It’s faster and cheaper.
- Don’t keep eggs that are too expensive or only Perfect. Keep Pristine eggs.
- It’s easy to get Pristine eggs, but Dazzling eggs are rare.
You can also start breeding more Shinies now. Breed 1-2 trait YaoLing with Shinies. Only keep Shiny eggs from this. You only need about 3 before stopping.
Step 2: Adding Shiny and Color
Now start breeding your Colored 2-Trait Legendaries with Shinies. Only hatch the Shiny eggs.
Tips:
- If working with Elites, breed Colored and Elite first, then add Shiny.
- Don’t hatch every egg. It wastes resources.
- Keep only Shiny Colored (SC) units.
Next, focus on improving stats:
- The number of good stats matters more than which stats are good.
- Rename units simply, like “TifurM33”.
- Breeding units with better stats slightly increases chances of getting better offspring.
Not all stats are equally important:
- ATK is important for all units.
- DEF can be lower for back row units.
- HP differences are noticeable but not huge.
- WP is mainly good for front line units.
- MAG is important for ability strength.
- CRIT makes a small but worthwhile difference.
Remember, Shiny talent will be random each time.
Set up 3 pairs of SC x SC for breeding. Use other slots for new projects.
Guidelines:
- Only hatch Shiny and very rare eggs.
- Don’t hatch eggs that are too cheap. They won’t have good stats.
You can start a new project or level up units while waiting. Getting a good SC YaoLing takes time.
Keep 4-6 of your best SC breeding pairs and remove the rest to stay organized.
I sincerely hope this was helpful. Good luck to you!
