Tips to Beat Titans
Try and bait the two factions into fighting each other. Turtle up in your city if they come for you. Focus on cheap infantry units to take hits in cover and high damage range units to slowly take them down. It was quite a surprise when they showed up.
Do whatever you can to up production so you can make units faster.
Acrin titans have very high raw damage and are better against large models; Zephon titans have splash on all attacks and are better against infantry
Titans are immune to some stuff but not several crucial debuffs.
Notable examples: Cyber Operation “Interference Protocols” (-2 accuracy for 3 turns), Cyber Aranean Stalkers Mark Target (+2 incoming accuracy for rest of the turn), Cyber Hashimilim Host blind (-2 accuracy for 2 turns), Cybork Krypt Achai third ability (25-75% self-damage on ranged attacks), Voice Iok Swarm corrode (-2 armor for 2 turns).
You want to hit with hard hitting attacks, and there is zero chance of overkill. You want powerful attacks and don’t care about Splash. My favorite approach is the top two tiers of infantry for each faction.
Assault Troopers have a stupidly strong antimatter grenade with something like 36 damage output and an innate +33% damage, then switch to 24-30 dpr though with low AP. Praetorians hit for 36-40 with +2 accuracy. and can survive a LOT of damage thrown their way. Phenaris Hunters hit for 30 and spawn a nightmare for another 30 (though I fear thye might be useless vs. acrin titan). Phenaris Epicureans hit for 40, have an innate +2/+4 accuracy, and strip an additional 6hp through dots.
Cyber is a bit on the weaker side here, as Kriteria Annihilators only hit for 20 without the kill streak but they action surge every 5 turns, and Elohim Maelstroms hit for only 24 but do so from range 4/8 and also aciton surge.
Also fun: you can Concuss a Acrin titan with a Vulkan R-5 or, for extra funsies, any old team of Acrin Remnant.
Dishonorable mentions: Phoenix Interceptor (good damage but an acrin titan one-turns it), Voradoi’s Leviathan (pitiful single target damage), Aegyllan Worms (their splash contributes a lot to their power).
- A very important figure to consider here is HP Model cap. Units with Group Size limit the base attack to however much HP a model has.
- So a 16 damage weapon hitting a 2 HP/Model Militant only does 2 damage before accuracy. Model HP ranges for 2-6.
- If you factor in 50% accuracy and there is no multi hit, a Militant can take a dozen attacks at 200 Damage.
- Meanwhile single entities like titans take full. Vanquishers and other high damage weapons are very dangerous to them.
- Titans don’t have a lot of weapons or attacks.
