Age of Magic – Ultimate Guide to Medallions

Medallions Guide

What are Medallions?

Medallions are additional reinforcements for our heroes. They have the ability to increase or maximize various stats of the heroes. There is one main unchangeable parameter and four variable ones. Those 4 vary according to a random exchange, so they can’t be chosen.

How to Get Medallions, Dragon Scale and Dragon Tear?

Medallions:

They can be obtained through periods established by the game and will be available every 8th of each month. These events have several durations. You will find events such as the Fate Pass (keep reading for more info) or in the milestones section from the main screen of the game. Also the Medallions are divided in 3 states and you need gold or energy to obtain them.

Dragon Tear and Dragon Scale:

Just like the medallions, Dragon Tear and Dragon Scale can be obtained through the same events, Fate Pass (keep reading for more info) or even purchased at the market respecting the usual timing that the game provides us. Check their deadline.

Why Use Medallions?

Medallions are useful because we can increase the parameters of some heroes that we think are not high enough. Here’s an example:

A hero has good attack but not much health, with the medallions (if lucky with the randomness of their appearance) we can increase their value and to change them we will need 1000 Dragon Tear:

To increase its value we have to use.

Dragon Scale and the required number of the latter varies according to the level of the medallion (1 to 80):

Fate Pass

As mentioned before that to get some medallions you have to complete/purchase some passes, one of them is the Fate Pass.

During the Fate Pass you will have the opportunity to obtain medallions often related to a specific faction of heroes and we will find it in the same section of the classic passes at the top of the left. The duration of the Fate Pass is a total of days set by the game. Just like the classic passes we know, we’re going to need energy to complete it which also includes arena, raids, tournament and Tomb of Horror.

The Fate Pass can have two modes:

  • Premium: (for a fee) with the final obtaining of a medallion and resources.
  • Standard: (free) with only resources but no medallion.

There will be 35 levels to complete within the set days and each time we advance we will have the opportunity to obtain the following resources to increase our medallions. Here’s an example of what the Fate Pass looks like:

Once we have completed the Fate Pass unlike the Hero Pass and Season Pass, we will not have additional resources but only those obtained during the 35 levels.

How and Where to Use Dragon Scale and Dragon Tear?

After we get the medallion we want, you have to click on the hero with the medallion obtained and set the medallion, we will find it on the right of the hero’s screen:

Once we have selected the medallion we will find ourselves in this screen with the various states of the hero:

Here we will have the possibility to modify characteristics and level (randomly) or to increase the parameters.

You will find the main parameter which is unchangeable:

Also 4 more or the right side of the screen and you can randomly change them using the Dragon Scale:

And finally the parameters that we chose:

Notice: Once you’ve spent your resources, you can’t change your Dragon Tear and Dragon Scales for free. So be very careful especially with Dragon Tear, make sure you’ve chosen the desired parameters for your hero.

Level of Medallions and Their Status

The medallions as mentioned above can be increased to level 80 with the Dragon Scales.

To increase the values of the medallion itself we have to evaluate the color/number of the parameters because at each level it will require more resources.

We have different stats that will be presented as a percentage or as a normal number and will have different colors based on their level that varies from I to X and starts from green, blue, purple and finally a gold/yellow.

The normal number in digits does not vary from the growth of the hero. The percentage follows the hero’s level.

Example of Health with normal number in digits:

  • If the hero has a total of 1,000,000 Health and we have a stats of the medallion with a normal number +300,000 Health we will have a total of 1,300,000 Health and the health stats of the medallion will remain the same regardless of the growth of our hero.

Example of Critical Damage with percentage:

  • Critical Damage Chance Multiplier means for example: 50% Crit Chance of a hero PLUS The Medallion’s 10% Crit Chance Multiplier will result in 55%. (50% + (50×0.1) ).

Notice: It’s good to remember that if by chance a hero with a parameter that doesn’t relate to his abilities has the effect of the medallion that the hero does not have as default, the medallion effect won’t work. For example, Flame does not heal the allies so effects inherent in care like health steal does not apply.
