Fastest Way to Earn Legendary without Spending Money

Getting your strategy right when playing each new event. Save up enough tokens to do one or multiple legendary roulettes. As a F2P account I managed a couple legendaries per event.

In the top right might be the current event, as a starter you’ll likely be bound to the actual starter event. It should be in the same spot.

The golden rules

• Use your free recruit every week (sometime on Monday/Sunday).
• Participate in the Madame Fortune event (Mon/Sun) – You get free 100 Taler something cards somewhere in the banners but you gotta click it to claim it.
• Participate in HeliRace Quests, accumulate TopGears (currency) and spend it on a legendary in the HeliRace Market. TopGears do not expire.
• Events ExoBonds – complete those quests…but note ExoBonds expire at the end of the Event (usually a 5 day event). ExoBonds can buy some legendary units.

In other words

The free recruit is on a 7 day minus 2 hour timer, not a fixed day. It is suggested to keep it in sync with first day of event so you can use it toward the pull 2 in ch 1 of the event, that way you can progress the event just spending 1 recruit. That would be Friday for most people.

If you want to exchange gem for legendary unit, aside from spending in the event (the return of which is variable depending on whether that will help you progress further), the better way, compared to 10x recruit, is to dry grind PvP crate (to keep fighting even when slots are full and when a legendary drop, force it open with 179 gems). This should give more legendary than recruit, although the value will vary by league and you should do some math.

It is suggested to keep gems for finishing the event, especially if you can sync the event with a legendary commander purchase–by doing 30k token + 3500 gem spend path in ch 3 with the 3500 spent node completed by buying the commander. This would require you being able to complete the node after that by having the featured merc beyond a certain level, so this might not be doable for a while.
